Trip to Romania
Thirty six Lower Sixth St Louis spent an enjoyable and rewarding week in the Brasov area over the mid-term break as part of the Friends for Romania winter trip.
As usual, our students deserve tremendous credit for their fundraising and commitment to the trip since September. An incredible amount of money was raised once again which is used to purchase essential items for a large number of centres, schools and orphanages which they visit throughout their week in Romania. One of the highlights of the week was the annual visit to Mesota College, a school St Louis have visited for the last number of years during the winter trip. The Mesota students entertained us with some traditional and modern pop songs and then it was the turn of the St Louis talent. Conor, Declan, Ben and Michael lip synced, Cara played a few tunes on the tin whistle and Conor O’Rawe played guitar with Catriona, Neska, Hannah, Sorcha and Clare his back up singers for "All of Me.” As a whole group, St Louis performed "Ho Hey” by The Lumineers and then taught their Romanian peers ‘The Waves of Tory’. They then had free time to catch up and chat – all in all a great afternoon was had by all!
As always, the trip to Romania was a rewarding, fulfilling yet humbling experience for our students. Mr Marquess, Mr Heffron, Mr McNaughton, Miss Ferris and Miss Doherty commend them all for the enthusiasm, energy and commitment throughout the week – well done everyone!
