World Mounted Games
Year 11 pupil, Brigid Delargy, had the opportunity to travel to New Zealand to represent Ireland in the World Mounted Games Championship in Auckland.
After the long journey, the team then had three days to familiarise themselves with five horses which they had never seen before! They had three rounds to get through in a bid to qualify into the ‘A’ final. Incredibly, Ireland qualified just behind the hosts, New Zealand, who had the advantage of riding their own horses!
The Irish team then rode against all the other countries in the final which included: America, Wales, England, Southern Hemisphere, New Zealand and Australia. Brigid and her teammates did their country proud and finished in 4th place.
